Description

The Israeli Emergency Bandage 4" from Safeguard Medical is the original all-in-one trauma pressure dressing trusted by military, law enforcement, and first responders in over 50 countries. Combining a non-adherent sterile pad, a built-in pressure applicator, an elasticized bandage, and a closure bar in a single unit, it delivers effective one-handed hemorrhage control for lacerations, amputations, and penetrating wounds. FDA-cleared as a non-pneumatic tourniquet and standard issue for U.S. Army soldiers since 2001.

Features

  • Built-in pressure applicator bar delivers 30 to 40 lbs of direct wound pressure
  • Non-adherent 4" sterile pad eliminates pain during removal and prevents wound re-opening
  • Elasticized bandage conforms to extremities, head, and torso while maintaining consistent pressure
  • Built-in closure bar requires no pins, clips, tape, hook-and-loop, or knots
  • Designed for true one-handed self-application without assistance
  • Compact, lightweight, and vacuum-sealed for IFAK and EDC carry
  • 8-year shelf life
  • Made in Israel

4" vs 6" Emergency Bandage

  • 4" (this product): Compact and lightweight. Best for arm, lower leg, hand, and scalp wounds. Ideal for IFAK pouches and EDC kits where space is limited.
  • 6": Larger pad for bigger wounds. Preferred for thigh, groin, shoulder, and torso. Better for severe or large-area bleeds and traumatic amputations. Shop 6" here.

Application

  1. Place the non-adherent sterile pad directly against the wound.
  2. Feed the elastic bandage through the pressure bar on the first pass, positioning the bar directly over the wound site.
  3. Wrap the bandage in circular passes around the limb or body area, maintaining firm pressure with each layer.
  4. Secure with the built-in closure bar. No clips or tape required.
  5. If additional pressure is needed, insert the closure bar between previous bandage layers directly above the pressure bar and rotate to increase downward force.
  6. Note the time of application. Reassess for tourniquet need if bleeding is not controlled.
