Ops-Core makes advanced head protection, the company that created the FAST helmet and set the modern standard for high-cut tactical helmets. Now part of Gentex Corporation, Ops-Core coined the term FAST, for Future Assault Shell Technology, around 2005 with a high-cut helmet that was lighter than the standard-issue helmets of the day and cleared space for communications headsets. Those helmets were adopted widely by special operations forces, and the FAST SF became the standard headborne system for U.S. special operations command.

The lineup centers on ballistic and bump helmets in high-cut and low-cut configurations, built to accept accessory rails, night-vision shrouds, and retention systems. Ops-Core also produces communication headsets, visors, and mandible and respiratory accessories that integrate with its helmet platforms.

What distinguishes an Ops-Core helmet is the integrated system design. The shell geometry and high ear cut extend coverage while leaving room for headsets, and the platform is built around modularity, with ARC rails for mounting lights and accessories, front shrouds for night vision, and the Head-Loc retention system tuned for stability under a mounted load. Bump models protect against impact and provide the mounting platform at lower weight, while ballistic models add fragmentation and rifle-rated protection depending on the version. Because the helmet anchors so much head-borne equipment, fit and retention matter as much as the shell, and Ops-Core's accessory ecosystem lets a helmet be configured to the mission.
