What is a bug out bag?

A bug out bag is a pre-packed emergency kit designed to sustain you for 72 hours or more when you need to leave your location quickly. Also called a BOB, go bag, or get home bag depending on the intended use.

How much should a bug out bag weigh?

A general rule is to keep your loaded BOB under 20–25% of your body weight. Most practical setups fall between 25–40 lbs depending on scenario length and individual fitness. A lighter, well-prioritized kit outperforms a heavy kit with filler every time.

What is the difference between a bug out bag and a get home bag?

A bug out bag is built for leaving home and sustaining yourself for multiple days. A get home bag is lighter and optimized for a single mission: getting from wherever you are back to home, typically kept in a vehicle.

Should I buy a pre-made kit or build my own bug out bag?

Pre-made kits are faster to acquire and well-suited for buyers who want a ready solution. Building your own gives you control over every component — weight, quality, and configuration — and is usually the better option for buyers with specific requirements or existing gear.

What is the best bag to use as a bug out bag?

Look for 35–55L capacity, a structured frame, load-bearing hip belt, MOLLE webbing for expansion, and a durable fabric rated for outdoor use. Eberlestock, Condor, 5.11, and Tasmanian Tiger are proven platforms.

Condor

Condor Outdoor makes dependable tactical gear at accessible prices, a combination that has made it one of the most widely used brands across military, law enforcement, first responder, and outdoor communities. Founded in the 1980s by Spencer Tien and headquartered in Irwindale, California, Condor began in camping gear and moved into tactical equipment as demand grew after 9/11, becoming one of the first companies to serve the modern tactical market. Its philosophy, that affordability shouldn't compromise quality, continues to define the brand.

The lineup is broad, spanning plate carriers and chest rigs, battle belts, modular pouches, backpacks, and tactical apparel. The 3-Day Assault Pack, introduced in 2002, remains the brand's best-known product and the pack that established its tactical line, and the Condor Elite series, added in 2016, serves law enforcement and security professionals in fast-paced environments.

Condor's appeal is value across a wide catalog. The gear covers most load-bearing and organizational needs at prices that make outfitting a full loadout, or equipping a team, realistic, which is why it's a common choice for those building their first setup and for agencies buying at scale. MOLLE and PALS compatibility runs across the line, so Condor pouches, carriers, and belts work together and with other brands' gear, and the broad range of colors and camouflage patterns, including MultiCam, covers uniform and field requirements. The durability-to-price balance is the reason Condor equips so many first loadouts.

Build a platform with Condor rigs and modular pouches, carry gear in bags and packs, and browse the full tactical gear selection.

CONDOR

Since its launch in the 1980's, Condor Outdoor Products has been devoted to providing high-quality outdoor gear at cost-effective prices. Spencer Tien, the company's founder, put much emphasis on creating long-term relationships with the Army-Navy industry's most dependable vendors, giving Condor the chance to provide top-notch quality and value. At Off Grid Warehouse, we are proud to offer a large variety of Condor's products.

Condor’s product lines are continuously field-tested by professionals to ensure precision, quality and long-term reliability. The company’s focus has always been to use premium materials, coupled with quality workmanship, to deliver products that are both reliable and extremely functional, but remain cost friendly. In 2016, Condor introduced its Condor Elite line of products to meet the needs of law enforcement and security professionals who are responding to crisis scenarios in urban areas around the world. This line of functional gear is made with superior material components for maximum durability and performance. Condor began by manufacturing camping gear that centered mostly on storage. As the company shifted its attention to tactical and military operations, it recognized that storage alone was not enough and that durability and functionality were essential. Servicemen and women can depend on Condor's resilient, performance-boosting designs. From bags and packs to modular pouches to vests and platforms, Condor has all the gear an elite operator needs in the field.

One of Condor's most successful products is their 3-Day Assault Pack. The Cond or 3-Day Assault Pack is the most popular item in their lineup - admired by operators, outdoor fanatics, and everyday users alike, thanks to its impressive utility features and classic design. This pack has repeatedly proven itself in all kinds of tough and challenging outdoor environments, showing its worth time and time again.
