The Tactical Mechanical Tourniquet, also known as the TMT Tourniquet is a specialized hemorrhage control device that has been designed with the purpose of managing massive bleeding of an extremity. Drawing on insights from the battlefield, its application is easy to understand and allows for a reliable occlusion. It can be quickly and effectively used as a self-help or buddy-help technique, with minimal instruction, to treat life-threatening bleeds on an extremity. Furthermore, the TMT TQ surpasses many of the flaws found in other tourniquets.
