High Speed Gear Announces Gen 2 TACOs

We had the pleasure of meeting with High Speed Gear at SHOT Show 2024. During our time meeting with them, we were able to get hands on time with many of their new products and the new brands they have added to the HSGI family: BlackPoint Tactical and Crucial Concealment.

HSGI Generation 2 TACO

Celebrating their 25th anniversary, I was able to talk to Joseph from their design team. He walked me through the Gen 2 TACO - a more sleek, light and durable upgrade from the original TACOs. In our opinion, the big selling point of this pouch is the polypropylene core. This is the core found also in the recently launched elastic line. Polypropylene allows for the TACO to hold its shape for better durability, as well assist with the insertion of mags.

On the back of the Gen 2, you will see the new half-inch MOLLE. This allows for better adjustability and fitment when mounting MOLLE or to a belt. The new look of the tactical gear community in the last year has been laser-cut. It allows for a cleaner look and paired with the thermoplastic/polypropylene core makes this TACO 20% lighter than the original. A new addition for this generation is a loop for HSGI's OTR Cover. Adding this cover would make this pouch compliant for police departments that require over-the-top retention.

As an HSGI dealer ourselves, we have placed our pre-order for these pouches and are expecting them by late April. As with all High Speed Gear products, these items are handmade in the USA and go through rigorous testing to meet military and law enforcement standards.
