Drink mixes add powdered milk, coffee, and other beverages to a long-term food reserve, built to mix directly with stored water rather than eaten on their own, which matters during a hurricane, an extended power outage, or a supply chain disruption when everyday routines are some of the first things to disappear. These buckets bring familiar drinks into a reserve built mostly around meals, supplementing a food supply with both nutrition and a bit of everyday normalcy that's easy to take for granted. Households building a long-term pantry and anyone stretching a reserve across weeks or months rely on a drink supply like this to keep more than just meals on the table.

You'll find large-format buckets of freeze-dried coffee and powdered whey milk sized for months of servings, alongside a smaller #10 can of instant nonfat dry milk. Brands like ReadyWise are represented in this range.

Powdered milk adds real nutrition to a reserve, with protein, calcium, and calories that reconstitute into a drink or work as an ingredient in cooking and baking. Coffee doesn't add much nutritionally, but keeping a familiar morning routine going is one of the easier things to hold onto during a stressful stretch, and having it on hand instead of going without matters more than it looks on paper. Both mix directly with stored water, so the water set aside for a reserve should account for drinks in addition to cooking and rehydrating food. Freeze-dried coffee and powdered milk both store at room temperature for months or years without needing a fridge or freezer.

Pair a drink supply with matching water storage from Water Supply & Treatment, add Canned Food for a broader range of pantry ingredients, or stock Food Supply Kits for pre-assembled entrees and breakfasts to go alongside it.
