Techline Ribs in a Box

The Ribs in a Box™ task trainer is for training students in Needle Decompression of a Tension Pneumothorax. The simulated SOFTTECH®, ROCKTECH® bone and internal membrane provide realistic feedback to the trainee, while the internal cavity can accommodate an inflated exam glove or balloon to mimic escaping air when pierced. (Air Release Device not included).

  • Incorporating ROCKTECH® bone with a two-part design, it maintains tension on the membrane separating the open cavity underneath.

• Operation:

• Housed in its own storage case, the Ribs in a Box™ is designed for training students in Needle Decompression of a Tension Pneumothorax.
• To prepare the device, the trainer places an adhesive membrane between the two layers of ROCKTECH® bones and pushes the assembly into the corresponding opening in the skin.
• Optionally, if the trainer chooses to make the device express air when the needle is inserted, they may place an inflated exam glove in the cavity at its base. The device is then placed back in the storage case for use.
